In general this Fujimi kit is better than the Ferrari 248, well molded, detailed and fit of parts is pretty good It includes a PE set for all the seatbelts, decals are good and except for the wheels ones. they work well with Microsol. The only part that doesn’t have good fit is the motor cowling but it can be solved.
A weak point is the chrome on several sprues have which is annoying to remove. I know there are liquids that by submerging the parts, chrome can be removed, but I didn’t try using them yet. (Note from the editor: The ferric chloride, found at drugstores, or just oven cleaner works perfect.
The aim of this article is to share with you my experience in the building and improvement of this model.
Construction
The engine was the area of the model that received more modifications since the kit features many mechanic parts molded in a single part, this obviously diminishes the quality of the finished product and makes the painting job very difficult.
I started by separating the rear suspension upper arms (part K9) which come molded with parts of the gearbox. |
