Three months. Consecutive. Overnight. This was the time Alex spent to modify and build this Tamiya Corolla Wrc.
A tribute to Carlos Sainz who drove the car to the victory in the 1998 Montecarlo Rally, the first victory for the Corolla Wrc.
Perfectly engineered, the Corolla is an ideal base to go deep into a plastic surgery. The first step concerns the removal of hood, trunk and driver door. A round blade installed on a motor rotary tool, has been used to cut the mentioned parts. The glass on the left side has been cut as well, consequently replaced with clear thin acetate.

Once removed the hood (extra care is mandatory in the headlights area to avoid serious and irreversible damages), the area underneath is dramatically empty. The rough mechanical details moulded onto the undercarriage have been, at first, removed with a motor tool.
Then, an engine block and gearbox coming from a Tamiya Celica Gt Four have been installed with some adaptations.
