Nowadays, There are not a great many 1/12 car model kits available. Perhaps, you may find some, from Doyusha, Fujimi, Tamiya, Monogram, Revell, around the Internet. From my point of view, the 1/12 scale has some disadvantages with respect to the 1/24 scale, these models size and the apace they take at the time of being displayed either in your house or at exhibitions; besides one must be extremely careful with the details, since they will be more visible.
There's a great chance of getting accessories such as decals, special tires, wheels or parts to improve the interiors or engine details for the 1/24 kits on sale. This doesn’t happen when speaking about the 1/12 kits or bigger ones, except for some manufacturers that offer parts or decals to detail certain Formula I kits.
The kit

Building
The engine was one of the parts I poured out a lot of time into. I gathered many pictures and added several scratchbuilt details which were made out of spare parts I kept from old models, wires, cables, sewing materials and other stuff.
In the real engines, components such as carburetors, alternators, valve covers among others use to show the original metal color they are made from, but in the case of the custom cars, there are many independent companies that manufacture chrome plated parts for different vehicles’ brands
Several engine parts come already chromed, and though at first sight their finish don’t look real, but once black washes are given to the surfaces of the two carburetors and alternator, we’ll get the necessary volume effect an more realism.
To accomplish the electric system wiring , I used wires of different thickness which can be purchased in stores of electronic materials, and nylon thread previously painted red or blue was used for the thinner cables. The pipeline and fittings were represented with cord and aftermarket braided hoses, to get a customized engine.
