Editor Note: In the following article the author took 3 series of pictures, in an early stage of building, once the model was finished , and time after that, and immediately before this article would be online, other picture session where the model shows some modifications and adds, as accessories in the interior, the machinegun removed...etc.
Tamiya, Dragon and AFV Club (in chronological order) have not only a reference for this vehicle but also for the different versions of the 251. Dragon moulds have been improved version after version, correcting some errors the first editions of this kit featured. Anyway, as they’re not big mistakes, perhaps, we’d rather ignore them, unless we aim to do the “perfect model”.
Building
Since this is a kit with a great many variant, the instructions supplied, are much more extensive. At first sight, they seem to be complex and may intimidate novices. The drawings are very close to each other, something typical in the instructions coming with the last Dragon kits, so pay special attention to them, and you’ll not to run the risk of making mistakes. |

Although there are not serious errors, the understanding of the drawing turns somewhat difficult due to the great deal of parts.
I recommend to study the instructions carefully, making the necessary notes on the same sheet, and crossing down those parts which will not be used. Once the assembly has started, it’s very easy to get lost in view of the great many possible options.
Though the instructions Dragon offer, are enough for a basic assembly, in this case, the possibility of choosing different types of vehicles from different times (remember this is a “3 in !” box) makes that some extra information will be necessary.
