This is the second step of my “Half-Cut” series, the Ferrari Enzo (Testarossa here). Despite it is not overly nice to look at, especially from the side, the technique laying under its body is absolutely outstanding. Even in this case, substantial was the support of many pictures, technical documentation and original manufacturer’s illustrated spare parts list.
The car
The Enzo incorporates modern day technology neatly packaged in an aggressive no-compromises body shell. It is Michael Schumacher's World Championship winning Ferrari with a complete body. It is all there: carbon fiber chassis, carbon ceramic disc brakes, paddle operated gearbox and traction control. |

It is equipped with even more enhancements that are not allowed on F1 cars like a full ground effects floor pan and active aerodynamics. The Enzo's body just screams F1 with the pronounced nose and huge rear venturis.

The building process
When I started this project in December 2003, none of the current photo-etched set was available, so I carried out most of the necessary modifications with minor scratchbuilding and the addition of some adapted scrap etched parts, except the stunning turned aluminium rear shock absorbers from Sakatsu.
Following their center-lines, front nose, roof and the rear decklid have been cut with the motortool. |

The wheelwells have been cut as well to reveal brakes and suspensions.
