Basically this kit has been built straight out of the
box, using almost all of the parts included in the kit, and small details such
as generic photo-etched screw heads have been added. The objective of this
tutorial is to share with the reader the steps that I followed to build this
model.
The kit The Ford Mustang GT4 was presented at the SEMA Show in
Las Vegas in its 2016 edition, and was designed by Ford Performance in
collaboration with Multimatic Motorsports, based on the Ford Shelby GT350R-C. |

The GT4 was built with the goal of bringing the racing version
to consumers who wanted to purchase this feat of engineering, rather than being
geared towards the racing team market.
Tamiya offers a very complete 'curbside' kit, with good
details that, in general, is easy to assemble, and hours of entertainment are
guaranteed. However, and this is a very personal opinion, Tamiya could have
opted for more striking and attractive decorations, different from those
proposed in the box version since they are quite insipid.
Currently there are decal sets with alternative decorations
for this Ford Mustang GT4 Tamiya kit, which can be found on the market.
I built the model in a street version, combining a very
intense metallic lime green for the entire body, reference BMW Java Green
(Gravity Colors GC-2417). With two parallel white stripes that cross the entire
vehicle longitudinally, widely used in classic Ford and Shelby sports cars.
Gravity Colors offers a wide range of metallic green colors with specific
vehicle make codes, but when I saw a BMW i8 painted Java Green, I didn't
hesitate to use that color for this road version Ford Mustang GT4 project.
