In a short period of time, three companies have launched a kit of this tank into the market, the first one was Zvezda, next we could find the Meng’s version and lastly the Trumpeters’. Different articles have compared ones to the others regarding price, quality, complexity and fidelity, having each kit, defenders and detractors.
This article is about the Zvezda kit just because it was the first that came to my hands and caught my attention, so, I started to build it immediately before having the opportunity of seeing the competitors.
The Zvedza kit is a sample of the new generation kits, much more accurate and easy to build than other previous ones, similar to its recent German Pz.Kpwg IV Tiger that received high acceptance among modelers. |

Though it lacks of etched parts or other ones that are not plastic, the Zvedza T-90 has a high level of detail and there is no need of using any detailing set to complete it, just to replace the tow cable with braided cooper wire to get realism.
Construction
Assembly is straightforward and without complications, although it will be a good idea studying the instructions before placing the parts since several steps of the instruction manual may give rise to confusion.
Following instructions, I started with the turret.
Step 1 to 6 is about the assembly of different systems of the tank, the Shtora, the commander’s TKN-4S sight, Agava-2 gunner’s thermal sight etc. All optics were airbrushed Alclad chrome and then the clear parts were protected with masking tape.
The clear parts of the turret large front lights were painted clear red prior to installing.
