Read More here > Legal notice This Porsche 911 has been built in a few nights on February 2001 to be entered at the “Trofeo Tamiya” which took place the day I completed the model. I normally have no problems in starting new projects but then I struggle to finish one, except if I have to enter a contest. At that time the 911 Carrera was a relatively new issued kit, so mine would have been the first one seen at a contest in my area, that’s the reason why I choose a non-standard eye-catching color and showy wheels. After several test with different colors, at the end I got an outstanding Blue-Purple Mica intended for the Piaggio scooters. I moved the kit wheels to the scrap box and picked up new ones from a Tamiya Porsche GT2.
The car The new-generation Porsche 911 Carrera, introduced as model-year 1999, continues the long tradition started in 1965 with the first 911. The 911 constantly evolved over four decades and established a sports car legend on the road and racetrack. All 911 models feature a rear mounted, horizontally opposed "boxer" six-cylinder engine and the same distinctive profile; it accelerates from 0 to 100 kmh (0 to 62 mph) in 5.2 seconds. The kit
Building process But let me briefly explain how I proceed building this Porsche. I opened the box on Monday evening and glued the 911 on the display case, ready for the contest, at 4:00 in the morning of Saturday, day of the entries. Never do so, will see later why.
