I wanted to build the Revell 1/12 Ferrari F2002 for a long time, but I waited until I got extra detail parts, to somehow superdetail it. So in addition to the kit, I procured the Brain Fawcett correction kit, Marlboro decals and the Scale Motorsports super detail kit. The Brian Fawcett correction kit has accurate resin brakes, wheels, spindles, valve covers, additional engine parts, a new transmission and suspension parts all in Resin.

The SMS super detail kit has the aluminum spindles nuts, and wheels, PE brake parts, PE parts for the steering wheel, carbon fiber decals for the undertray, radiators tunnels, and other parts.

The Fawcett correction kit states that you cannot use the PE brakes, and the aluminum wheels, we’ll see.

I also procured additional carbon fiber decals, RB Motion electrical connectors and evergreen plastic materials, plus I will use other things such as wire and shrink tubing that I already have in my inventory. This kit has a bad reputation for fitment issues, I have an idea to alleviate most of these issues. It is not a very complicated model, so it shouldn’t take too long to complete.

Building

I started with the engine first. There isn’t much detail to the engine, so it is up to the builder to make it more accurate. The first thing I did was to add .025 thousands rod to each intake funnel to make the look of the butterflies.
