This is the 1/8 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-500TM de 1967 from the Planeta Deagostini Publisher. The model is offered in 100 weekly fascicles, each one includes history and parts to build the model. The model is mostly made of diecast and plastic parts, is heavy as 9 or 10Kg, but lacks of details, mostly in the engine bay area, and some parts are odd represented. So I added lot of them, fuel lines wiring...etc. The body and other diecast parts are already painted, the paint is poor and there is differences between panels as there weren’t painted at the same time.

The suspension is the weak point of the model and I had to work a lot to improve it, mostly in the front suspension. The upper arms were reinforced with metal and all the joints were modified to allow the suspension movement.

Fascicle 33 and 37 suffered of the metal cancer and I had to buy both parts from Ireland (the only place where were available at ebay).

around 30 hours detailing and modifying those model areas. I took ideas from other modelers as modelers use to do, and I found a medium point among the superdetailed and out o f the box.

This model was a headache since the beginning and in each step I didn’t know if I would find something that made me stop the work.

One point I want to remark is the left door, it needs to be cut down in the area that joint with the dashboard, in other way the door will not close correctly.

Finally I made my own decal sheet using adobe illustrator and images I got from ebay for real stickers offered for restorations, then I laser print in white blank decal sheet.

This is not a tutorial, just a gallery, so the following pictures show most of the work. If you want to get large images need to order the PDF.

Big size photos are only available in our PDF format.
