For this project, I used the Academy kit reference #13201 which is no more nor less than its old mould featuring new parts and including a new decal sheet. In this way, Academy is trying to improve this kit to let those modelers who want to accomplish this vehicle in the recent Iraq campaign theatre, can do this.

Unfortunately, the sprue with parts and a decal sheet is not enough to release a kit as I’ll try to explain later on. But if there’s a point in favour of Academy, is that is the only company that took the risk of releasing this attractive model in plastic injection having on the other hand the unaffordable Accurate Armour resin kits.

Assembly

Knowing this kit, I thought detail level could be improved so I decided to add the Armorscale Rarden barrel, Ref B35-049, which meant and extra expense that well worth the effort since the plastic part supplied with the Academy kit leaves a lot to be desired.
