The local air force has just bought three of these from the RAF since the Embraer/Bae Tucano has taken its role. These were mainly used for training mainly by the AIR UNIVERSITY training facility in England. Today these aircraft are also used for training and air surveillance work, too. As can be seen the pilots sit in a side-by-side layout with very good wide view from the cockpit. They are also stressed for mild aerobatics. These aircraft joined the Malta Air Force this year after they have been fully overhauled in England and as can be seen the planes are now in excellent flying condition.
This photos were taken during the Malta Airshow in the last weekend of September, 2000.
